This policy follows the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, the EU GDPR.
2. Data we process
- Data you give us: name, company, email, phone, delivery address, event date, number of guests, menu and allergy requests, and your message.
- Data collected automatically: IP address, date and time, pages visited, browser, operating system and referring site.
- Cookie and analytics data, only with your consent (see 5 and 6).
3. Why we use it
To handle catering requests, quotes, orders and invoices; to communicate with you; to run, secure and improve the website; to measure website use and advertising (only with consent); and to meet legal obligations. GDPR legal bases where applicable: contract (Art. 6(1)(b)), legitimate interest (f), consent (a) and legal obligation (c).
4. Contact and request form
When you contact us via the form or by email, we store your details to handle your request. They are stored on our website and forwarded to us by email. We only share them with third parties where needed to fulfil your order (e.g. delivery partners).
5. Cookies
Essential cookies (e.g. language choice and your cookie settings) are always set. Statistics and marketing cookies are only set if you consent in the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time in the cookie settings or by deleting cookies in your browser.
6. Google Analytics and Google Ads
We use Google Analytics 4 (via Google Site Kit and Google Tag Manager) and Google Ads from Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, to understand how our site is used and whether our ads work. Cookies are set and usage data (shortened IP address, device information, pages visited) is sent to Google, including to the USA. Google is certified under the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. 7. Hosting and server logs
This website is hosted by GoDaddy.com, LLC, 2155 E. GoDaddy Way, Tempe, AZ 85284, USA. The server automatically records technical access data (log files) to keep the site secure. This data is not combined with other data and is deleted after a short period.
8. Links to other websites
Our site links to third-party sites such as eventbutler.ch and Instagram. Their own privacy policies apply.
9. Transfers abroad
Some providers, especially Google and our hosting provider GoDaddy, may process data outside Switzerland, including in the USA. We only transfer data to countries with adequate protection or on the basis of suitable safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or the Data Privacy Framework.
10. Retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed. Requests that do not lead to an order are usually deleted after 2 years. Business and accounting records are kept for 10 years as required by law.
11. Security
We protect your data with appropriate technical and organisational measures, including an encrypted connection (HTTPS).
12. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete and receive your data, to object to processing and to withdraw consent at any time. Email us at order@socatering.ch. You may also complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or, in the EU, to your local supervisory authority.
13. Changes
We may update this policy at any time. The version published on this website applies.
